The Art of Forest Bathing

Have you ever stood next to an old growth tree and felt a tremendous sense of awe and belonging to something so large that it was difficult to put into words? That is the
power of Nature. This workshop will take you on a walk through the forest, awakening all of your senses, guiding you on a path of self awareness as you re-discover the
natural world around you in a new way. You will be encouraged to let go of all of your worldly concerns and enter into the deep arms of nature that can nurture you, heal you, and open your heart to a deep sense of beauty. Nature teaches us everything. Research has now shown that consistent forest bathing can help with anxiety, high
blood pressure, reduce stress levels, and even boost your immune systems and cardiovascular systems. Perhaps you need a boost in your mood or there are heavy
life decisions weighing you down. Come walk with me. Let Nature take you by the hand and lead you into the forest.

Forest Bathing, is referred to as shinrin-yoku in Japanese. There really are no rules, but forest bathing does not mean nudity. At least not on this walk. Although in another place and time, your are free to experiment. You might want to bring your journal and write about your experience, especially how you felt before and after. It will be a fairly easy walk but wear comfortable shoes.

about Billie!

Billie lives on Native Soil Farm in Toledo, WA where she grows herbs and vegetables, and continues planting trees whenever possible. She has owned and operated several businesses all based around farming or environmental work. Operating a nursery on her property she grew thousands of small trees and shrubs for federal, state and county projects along the I-5 corridor between Vancouver, WA and Vancouver BC. The “babies” as the small trees were referred to, were sent off with blessings to grow strong and give people shade and comfort one day. Trees were her friend as a child and she spent many hours sitting in trees and watching.

Having spent seven years working with a Lakota healer, Billie learned about the wisdom of being in a woman's body and healing ancestral sickness. She continues to work and learn from many aboriginal healers around the world. Her heart is in helping people step into their true selves and being with the trees.
